Wonderling Brothers All Want ISKY $
St. Catharines, ONT… Jeremy Wondering scored his best ever racing payday last year when he won the $2500 ISKY Racing Cams Championship event for the BRP CanAm Series at Black Rock Speedway. Jeremy wants another $2500 ISKY payday on Saturday when the ISKY Cams BRP CanAm Late Model Special at Super DIRT Week takes place at Cayuga County Fair Speedway.
Two drivers who promise to give their little brother a tough run for the $2500 are Mikey (not Mike Jr.) and Brady Wonderling. Race fans know that they are in for a treat when all three of Mike and Deb Wonderling’s boys buckle up in their BRP CanAm late models. They race each other hard for a heat race win with no money on the line. $2500 and bragging rights at next months Scio Speed Society meeting will make a show nobody should miss.
Statistically Jeremy has the best odds. He is the only one of the three brothers to ever win a BRP CanAm Series event. The big red head A.K.A. Mr. Excitement owns five Series wins the most recent in July at McKean County Raceway. However, he has struggled a bit in recent outings with his Terry Prince Construction Shaw Corvette. Jeremy comes into the ISKY event third in Series points.
Next on the probability chart is Mikey. The eldest of the racing Wonderling brothers drives the Jim and Sharon Schuyler owned Himrod Hot Rod #57j. Mikey is coming off a strong second place run at Woodhull Raceway last weekend. The Schuylers have acquired new power for their hot rod and the entire team has been smiling a lot since bolting in the Fox Racing Engines piece. Mikey is locked in a very close point battle. He enters Saturday’s race ninth, just seven points behind Tim Schram and just three points ahead of Bruce Miller. With both money and points on the line Saturday the Himrod cheering section will be large and noisy.
Brady Wonderling returned to the Series for the first time this year just last month. His #777 Rocket Monte Carlo is a cooperative effort between several members of the Scio Speed Society. They had a difficult outing at Woodhull last week, but will be ready for a $2500 pay day on Saturday. (I hope they have a formula for sharing the money between the Society members.)
ISKY Racing Cams of Gardena, CA become a BRP CanAm Series marketing partner last year when they offered $2500 to the winner of the BRP CanAm Series Championship race at Black Rock Speedway last year. For 2008 Richard Iskenderian has upped the ante. The ISKY Championship Chase will conclude with a $1500 to win event at Black Rock Speedway on October 25.
Join the Wonderling brothers and about 40 others at 7:30 on Saturday October 11 at Cayuga County Fair Speedway for the ISKY Cams Late Model Special at Super DIRT Week.
