Mr. DIRTcar Series Schedule Updates Made During Super DIRT Week

Weedsport, NY – October 13, 2008 – By Tom Skibinski, DIRTcar Racing NorthEast PR Director

Rain during the fall season continues to dictate area track schedules, with two Hoosier Tire Mr. DIRTcar Championship event dates recently affected directly and indirectly by inclement weather.

The only blemish during the entire Super DIRT Week production was unfortunately experienced last Wednesday by the operations team at Can-Am Motorsports Park. Good news, however, for north country fans is that the big DIRTcar 358-Modified and Sportsman Modified tour doubleheader has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 25. A 4 p.m. starting time is on the docket with pit gates opening at 1 p.m. and seating in the main grandstand beginning at 2 o’clock.

Anyone already purchasing a ticket on October 8 before rain forced postponement of the season-ending event in LaFargeville will be admitted free Oct. 25 upon display of the proper ticket stub from the originally scheduled date. The regular ticket price for the upcoming Saturday show will be $20 for adults and $5 for kids 10-14 yrs. while children 9 and under are always FREE. All military personnel are admitted at half-price.

Forgoing even the chance of hosting a Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Championship Series event for the first time ever at Thunder Mountain Speedway, track management recently decided to cancel the scheduled Friday, October 17 portion of the upcoming ‘Fall Ball Weekend’ at the Center Lisle, New York oval and stage a complete five-division program the following day.

"With the changing weather and the likelihood of reduced attendance because of it, it seemed appropriate to downsize the format and concentrate our efforts on just the Saturday portion of the program" stated T-M track owner Dick Stark.
