STIEF AND HARTMAN GRAB MICRO-SPRINT NATIONAL WINS AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (October 11, 2008) - Rick Stief and Jay Hartman each took
home $1000 paychecks with Micro-Sprint National victories at Bridgeport
Speedway.
After setting the sixth fastest time during time trials for the 600cc
Micro-Sprints, Stief drew the pole on the redraw for the top six time
trialers. Stief led all 25 laps of the feature and survived numerous
late race restarts to gain the win. Nick Sapp finished in second after
starting in the feature in sixth. Jeff Hartman took third place. Matt
Esham started from the ninth spot and came home in fourth place. Bill
Thomas held on for fifth place. Sapp was the fastest time trialer of the
forty-five 600cc Micro-Sprints in attendance. Hartman, Jon Keller,
Thomas, Lee Nardelli and Stief completed the top six time trailers. Rich
McKay won the C-Main and Glenn Heverin grabbed the checkered flag in the
B-Main.
In the 270cc feature, Jay Hartman drew the pole and led from start to
finish to win the 25-lap feature. Fellow front row starter, Andrew
Locuson, finished in second. Sam Lamothe came home in third place. Bill
Sorrey and Cameron Merriman completed the top five. Of the forty 270cc
Micro-Sprints attempting to qualify, Sam Lamothe was the fastest in time
trials. Andrew Locuson, Merriman, Sorrey, Jay Hartman and Matt Mcanally
completed the top six time trailers. The 270cc Micro Sprint C-Main was
won by Kelsey Johnson while Justin Jones took the win in the B-Main.
