Meyers qualified his Elite Racing car in the fifth position for the event with a time of 14.383 seconds. Meyers then finished second in his heat race earning him the fourth starting position for the Crane Cams Dash by virtue of the draw. During the Crane Cams Dash, Meyers' KPC chassis was severely damaged after the right rear tire shredded and the car made contact with the outside wall, Meyers was credited with a 10th place finish. Forced to go to a back-up car for the night's event Meyers was required to start 24th per the World of Outlaws rules. When the checkered flag fell on the feature, Meyers had raced his way to a 15th place finish for the evening. "I guess some nights, lady luck just is not on your side," said Meyers.

Meyers and the Elite Racing Team have endured some challenging runs over the past four World of Outlaw events, "We seem to have reached a tough spot in the season," said Meyers. Showing the strength and determination of his team Meyers is optimistic "the whole team is working well together and I know it is just a matter of time before we get that first 2009 win and then hopefully start on a consistent winning streak."

Meyers was awarded the Super Clean Start of the Night Award and the KSE Hard Charger Award for the night, after he gained nine positions in the A-Main event.
