DAVID CARDEY RETURNS TO PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY THIS SATURDAY!

(MARCH 26, 2009, RIVERSIDE, CA) Popular Southern California racer “Dynamite” David Cardey returns to the racetrack this Saturday night, March 28th, when the Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Cars make their second appearance of 2009 at Perris Auto Speedway. Cardey will have a familiar look when he hit’s the track, but not the one many fans are expecting.

After a two season stint driving for Glenn Crossno’s famous ITI Performance Motorsports team, Cardey had a brief tenure to start the 2009 campaign behind the wheel of the Alexander Motorsports #4. This Saturday, Cardey returns to the familiar bright red #38 ITI Viper chassis with a powerful ITI Performance engine supplying the power to the rear wheels. The car is the same one Cardey drove to a heart stopping victory over the best drivers in the country in the 2008 Oval Nationals Friday preliminary main event.

Assisting the new father (David and wife Danita have a three month old son named Drake James) in the pits as he seeks Saturday’s main event winner’s trophy will be longtime crew members Lonnie Clabaugh, “Big Show,“ David’s father Jim and off course ITI head honcho Glenn Crossno.

Heading into this Saturday’s race, Cardey a 33 year-old who resides in Riverside, is sixth in points among the regulars who will contest for the 2009 USAC/CRA Championship Series. One of the favorites to win the 2009 crown, Cardey is only 37 markers behind the head of the local pack, Mike Spencer.

After Saturday’s race ends, the affable Cardey will be available to all fans to sign autographs, pose for pictures and answer questions.

Spectator gates will open at 4:00 PM this Saturday with the first race of the four division show taking the green flag at 6:00.

Perris Auto Speedway is on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds approximately one hour east of Los Angeles and one hour North of San Diego. To get to the track, take the 215 freeway, exit on the Ramona Expressway and go two miles east to the fairgrounds.

David Cardey would like to thank his sponsors for making the 2009 season possible: ITI Motorsports, Empire Plumbing, Circle Track Racing, Racer’s Pub, Powell Pipe & Supply and Scott Daloisio Sports.
