Billy V. Scores Shenandoah Podium Finish

By Toby LaGrange

Sparrow Bush, NY - Billy Van Inwegen, Jr. made the long tow south to the Shenandoah Speedway a successful one last weekend by bringing home a podium finish.

“It was a good opener for our SpeedSTR program”. Billy said. “It was a good show and we were a solid top three car”.

Those words from Van Inwegen following his impressive third place, SpeedSTR run.

With five laps to go he took the lead however the handling had gone away on his SpeedSTR. Billy was able to race with leader Doug Rose for a few laps however the handling was deteriorating and he couldn’t hand on. In the end he followed Rose and DJ Macri across the line.

Sponsorship for the 2009 racing season will come from Len & Jo’s Racing, Hank Conroy Motorsports, Johnson and Conroy Insurance Co – each of Port Jervis, NY, A1 Engines of Franklin, NJ and Zabriski Trucking.

The 2009 season will see the Len & Jo’s Racing Team follow the entire SpeedSTR by Tobias Schedule and hit as many CRSA shows as they can – at least 12 events.
