Sparrowbush, NY - Billy VanInwegen had a very solid performance at the Five Mile Point Speedway Sunday night. Billy, on hand as apart of the Capital Region Sprint Car Agency stop at the Southern Tier track – scored a popular top five finish in his first official feature event with the club this season.
The night started with Billy winning his heat race. This was his second heat race win in as many CRSA races. He piloted the Len & Jo’s Racing #229 to the heat race win at the Fonda Speedway last month. Rain postponed the Fonda feature event back one week and the team was not able to make it back to the Track of Champions.
Come feature time Billy would line up 11th and set his sights on the lead. He drove a steady race, coming home in the fourth position. He also earned the Todd Rittenhouse Bonus.
The Len & Jo’s Racing Team consists of Crew Chief’s Bill VanInwegen, Sr. and Tom Laner, Sr. along with crew members Emily, his Mom, Bernard Rhoades and the Laner family.
Sponsorship for the 2009 racing season will come from Len & Jo’s Racing, Hank Conroy Motorsports, Johnson and Conroy Insurance Co – each of Port Jervis, NY, A1 Engines of Franklin, NJ and Zabriski Trucking.
The 2009 season will see the Len & Jo’s Racing Team follow the entire SpeedSTR by Tobias Schedule and hit as many CRSA shows as they can – at least 12 events.
