All Star Late Model Series Treks to Butler ‘Battlegrounds’ Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 30.

Camargo, IL (5-23-09) - Jason Shank- O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series Director

It will be the second night of two in the ‘Great Lake State’ for the O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series as they travel to Butler Battlegrounds in Quincy, MI for a full ASLMS event including the SpeedWrapz Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Main’s and the 50 lap, $5,000 to win feature event on Saturday, May 30th.

“ASLMS drivers have been talking about this weekend since we released the schedule,” Series Director Jason Shank mentioned. “For most of our guys these two tracks, like Butler Battlegrounds are places they have never seen. They are excited to get somewhere they have never been before and facing the quality of drivers from the Michigan area.”

Race Format for the co-sanctioned weekend in Michigan will remain the same for both ASLMS and UMP Late Models (group qualifying). General rules regarding weight will also remain the same at 2300lbs with driver with one pound burn-off per lap for the A-Main feature event.

One change for the ASLMS will be the use of the UMP Tire Rule. Tires allowed during the co-sanctioned weekend in Michigan will be Hoosier LM20, Hoosier LM30, and Hoosier LM40. Any other tire will not be legal! ASLMS regulars will be able to purchase the required tires at a special discounted rate courtesy of the ASLMS.

Entry Fee = will be $75.00 for non ASLMS members and $50.00 for ASLMS members. For drivers and teams interested in purchasing an ASLMS Membership can do so for $250.00 for the season at the driver registration table.

A reminder to all drivers that the ASLMS utilizes the Raceceiver one-way radios at all ASLMS sanctioned events. It is highly recommended and drivers are encouraged to purchase their own Raceceiver radio as many tracks and sanctioning bodies are also utilizing the use of Raceceiver one-way radios.

Drivers expected to be in attendance throughout the weekend include ASLMS regulars such as Rob Blair, current 2009 ASLMS point leader Boom Briggs, Duane Chamberlain, Rod Conley, Devin Friese, Coleby Frye, Davey Johnson, Mike Knight, Matt Lux, and Jared Miley. Also anticipated on being in action at Butler Motor Speedway include Dean Anderson, Curtis Roberts, Rusty Schlenk, Jon Henry, JR Hotovy, Brian Ruhlman, and Jeep Van Wormer among others.

Butler Motor Speedway’s pit gates will open at 4:00 p.m. for the $5,000 to-win event with racing starting at 7:00 p.m. For more information please visit www.butlerpeedway.net.
