STREET STOCKS RETURN TO SATURDAY NIGHT SERIES MAY 30
MECHANICSBURG, PA -- The Saturday Night Series is back at Williams
Grove Speedway on May 30, and the street stock division is back in the
Saturday Night Series.
Actually the street stocks never really left, but were just given a
week off when the super sportsman cars and 358 c.i. late models were
joined by the 358 c.i. sprints on May 23.
The sportsman and late model cars will share the pit area with the
305 c.i. sprints this week, but the popular street stocks will also be
ready for their third start of the season.
Two-time track champion Kory Sites surrendered his crown to Doug
Hoffman last year, but he has come back with a vengeance in 2009.
King Kory is undefeated thus far in the early season, winning in
his first two starts at Williams Grove and establishing himself as the
odds-on favorite in the L.B. Smith Ford street stock division.
In the late model class the Beard Boys have kept victory lane to
themselves this year with Bobby Beard winning twice and Bernie Beard
winning the only other late model feature that was run.
Consistent Travis Mease with three top-ten finishes in as many
races could also be a contender for the A.J.'s Truck and Trailer 358
c.i. late model championship.
The Tool Shed of American sportsman division has been as
competitive as ever this season with three different winners in as many
races.
Defending champion Frankie Herr along with Bobby Hockenberry, Paul
Miller and Rick Barr have yet to finish out of the top ten in 2009.
The first heat is scheduled to start at 7:00 on May 30.
This week's adult admission will be $10. Persons aged 13-20 will
be admitted for $5 and there will be no charge for children twelve and
under.
Another Saturday Night Series program is scheduled for June 6.
