STRONGSTOWN, PA - Five new drivers graced the Dog Hollow Speedway winners circle on Friday night as Townsend Gas and Oil sponsored the trophies.

Only Nick Goss of Punxsutawney was a repeat winner, topping the Valenti’s Excavating Street Stocks.

Mike Blose and John Britsky led the super late models to the green flag with Blose taking the lead and setting sail. As Blose led, Britsky was in second with Sammy Stile third and Dane Laraway in fourth. The top four continued to run nose to tail, with Stile trying several times to get past Britsky, finally making it work on lap three but Britsky battled back and hounded Stile, with Laraway running a tight fourth and Rick Strong now in fifth.

The top five continued to battle for position, but never changing at the line. When Bob Sullenger threw the checkered flag it was Blose becoming the third different driver in as many weeks. Stile, Britsky, Laraway and Strong completed the top five. Heat wins went to Sammy Stile, Dane Laraway and Denton Boyer.

Ron Smithley and Mike Pegher Jr. led the Fastrak late models to the start but it was third place Tommy Snyder who led he first lap. Snyder made a wild move out of the gate to take the lead and set the pace for six laps with Pegher in second and Smithley third. A caution on lap six saw Pegher pit, relinquishing second to Smithley.

The restart saw Pegher at the rear of the field and Smithley second with Daniel Angelicchio third. Angelicchio took second from Smithley on lap eight and set his sights on the leader. As he was catching the leader and beginning to make a move, the caution waved for a spinning John Eckenrod. The restart saw Angelicchio on the inside of Snyder as they ran door to door the next two laps before Pegher spun to cause the latest caution. On the restart, with three laps to go, Angelicchio made it stick going into the third turn as he took the lead from Snyder and Smithley eventually go past the F1 for second. At the finish it was Angelicchio over Smithley, Snyder, Kirby Tucker and Bryan Force. Heat wins went to Tommy Snyder and Mike Pegher.

Jim Boyer beat Scott Good into the first turn at the start of the street stock feature then Good and Tim Laughard got together in turn three and Good was done for the night while Laughard continued.

The restart saw Boyer continut to lead with John Kinsey in second and Denny Keener third and Nice Goss fourth. The front two stayed the same as Goss moved past Keener on lap four and tok second from Kinsey one lap later. On lap six Goss was working the inside of Boyer, but Boyer help tough, so Goss tried the outside lane a lap later and took the lead on the backstretch. Boyer continued to fight back, but it was all Goss at the line. Boyer was second, Laughard worked back to third, Keener was fourth and Dave Galore was fifth. Jim Boyer and Tim Laughard won the heats.

In pure stock action it was Ray Hickok Jr. and Jon Hummel on the front row leading the the field to the start with Hickok taking the lead and Jeremy Shaffer in second. Davey Lee and Justin Queen were in the top four as the they pulled away from the rest of the field. A caution on the third lap tightened the field and allowed Steve Matko to join the battle with Hickok still in the lead and Shaffer trying all he had to get the top spot, but when the checkered flag waved it was all Hickok for his first win of the season. Shaffer, Lee, Queen and John Mazey completed the top five. Ray Hickok Jr. and Davey Lee split the heat wins.

The always wild and wooly four cylinder sidewinders hit the track with 27 cars strong as Daniel Luzier took the lead from fellow front row starter Jess Laughard. Luzier led until the sixth lap, when Laughard made his move for the lead on the front stretch but he only led until lap eight as Luzier took the lead back but only for lap nine, as Jeremy Merten cam from third at the start to get the lead and evetually his career first win. Luzier, David Rocker, Laughard and Chris Yoder completed the top five. Jeremy Merten, Matt Weakland and Joey Petyak copped heat wins.

The modified four cylinders hit the speedway with Ernie Smith and Mark Hummel on the front row, with Hummel taking the lead and Smith in second. The top two pulled away from the competitors and left them in their dust as they went on to finish the way the started. The top five were: Hummel, Smith, Craig Decker, Chris Hickok and Tom Pavelko.
