Mechanical problem and trying to get a handle on our 2009 DIRT WORKS GENESIS chassis has put us a little behind in our program!
The Dean Hubbs Memorial evening started out like the rest of season. After starting on the front row for the heat race, a coil wire fall off at the drop of the green flag. This had the #21 IMCA modified starting at the tail of the feature race! The gremlins stayed away and we came home with the victory!
Rob would like to share his post race thoughts:
It was great to be back in victory lane! This is a very special race for us IMCA drivers. It has been twelve years since Dean Hubbs was killed in his accident at Brewerton. It seems like yesterday. I'm very fortunate to have won this race three times and to be able to thank the family for still coming to Brewerton Speedway at the winner's ceremony is always an emotional event for me! The amount of fans that came down to congratulate us on our win added to all the emotion!
Thank you!
I will always continue to have the Dean Hubbs Memorial/Keller Insurance dash for cash to help this division of grass roots racers. That was the kind of racer Dean was. We take the six qualified racers, lowest in points to help the IMCA modifieds that perhaps could use the extra dollars!
This year's dash was won by Calvin Painter, followed by
2nd. J.J. Courcy
3rd. Mike Chilson
4th. Joe Miles
5th. Dave Talbot
6th. Brandon Carvey
