Scotia, NY - Scot Straight had a pretty good night at the Great Race Place, the Albany-Saratoga Speedway. After nearly experiencing the ultimate high and low one week ago, the rising Budget Sportsman star turned in a solid performance Friday night.
By virtue of not finishing the regularly scheduled Budget Sportsman feature last week, Scot had to qualify through heat race action this week. He started the qualifier in the fourth position and then was involved in an incident with another competitor. He was awarded his spot back and went on to finish second.
When the feature rolled out onto the track, Straight would line up 14th with all eyes set on improving that position. Improve he did as by lap five he was up to tenth. In the end he would finish 12th, taking another positive step forward in the 2009 racing season.
Sponsorship for the 2009 season will come from Schenectady Unit Parts/NAPA, Country Acres Pet Food Supply, TCAR and Freeman’s Bridge Wine & Liquor.
The Shocker Racing Team will be back in action Friday night at the Malta oval. |
