MIDDLETOWN, NY (May 28)……..The always exciting 358 Modifieds will headline the Saturday, June 6 Public Safety and Accord Speedway night race meet at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York.
Although the small-block-powered Modifieds have been permitted to race with the big-block cars the past several weeks, this will be the first time in 2009 that the 358s will rank as the top racing division. The big-block Modifieds will not be racing on June 6.
Orange County’s o the r racing divisions---Sportsman, Pro Stock and Pure Stock---will be in action with qualifying and feature races.
As of May 23, the 358 Modified points race is a bi-state battle between drivers from New York and New Jersey . Chuck McKee ( Middletown ) is currently on top with 100 points. He’s trailed by Jerry Higbie (Slate Hill, New York) with 95 points, David Van Horn (Harmony, New Jersey) 90 points, Chris Shultz (Pawling, New York) 85 points, and Tommy Meier (Waldwick, New Jersey) with 80 points.
Admission prices for the May 30 race meet remain at $14 adults, $12 seniors, and free for children 12 and under. The full night of racing begins promptly at 6:00 pm.
