Paid B-Main Slated For Next NDRL Short Track Super Series Event At I-88

Recommended Posts

Just a quick note: after a great conversation this morning with I-88 Speedway co-promoter Jamie Page, we have decided to add a fully-paid B-Main to the next NDRL Short Track Super Series Fueled By VP event at the Afton Fairgrounds on Wednesday, July 23 if the car count tops 50. In addition to the A-main event, all DNQ drivers will be invited to run a B-Mail paying every car. Details will be worked out in the coming days, but we wanted to get the word out now to teams.

Additionally, our recycle your entry fee program will be in effect. All drivers unable to qualify Tuesday at Thunder Mountain will receive a free car entry at I-88.  Full-season paid members receive a cash refund.

This is why you will be successful.  You are not a closed book by any means and want to make the best experience possible.  I will continue to show support to you.  That is above and beyond my hopes.  Thank you and good luck going forward.

Racers getting a cash refund......Wow..... Almost 50 years of going to races, and I don't think I've ever heard of a cash refund !!!!

Great idea and awesome to see some fresh ideas and exceptional promoting.

What happens though if there are 40 some non-qualifiers again?

Would they be split into two B mains? Will there be top finishers transferring into the A-main?

If the mod car counts stay this good maybe it would make sense to have mod only shows without a support class?

This is great news, thank you!  Hopefully by then I will be better at keeping the car in one piece on Saturday night so I don't miss the midweek special like I missed Thunder Mountain on Tuesday.  Knowning I'll be going home with something makes the decision to come and race that much easier.  Thanks again for all the hard work.

With this many cars i think you have to run a sprint car format with d,c,b, and a mains. Not sure if the drivers would like it but as a fan it would be fun to watch. I am also for timed dashes with an inversion  to set heat race lineups.

I thought the same thing as I was reading through this thread.

You don't NEED a support class. What you NEED is a well planned break that involves some kind of interesting entertainment that occupies the minds of the fans while track prep is being done. I agree with what you are saying about not having time to make wholesale changes, but you can't keep putting cars on the track when you need to bust the berm or hit it again with water.

I often thought about this......how about a portable stage with a live band!

This would be perfect at I88. Park it in victoy lane , which is on the horse track between the stands and race track. When intermission is over, unplug it and tow it away.
