Who pissed in DIRT's Cheerios?

Recommended Posts

rumour has it that 5 Mile Point is getting a SDS race next year and Deyo is enemies of FMP/ Andy Harpell... so I think all of these things are related.  really unfortunate about the NES event looking like it will not happen next year.  Dirtcar should lease the track and put on the whole show themselves.  Just after last year when it looked like a lot of walls were getting broken down and everybody was trying to work together.

I really wouldn't hold my breath on 5 Mile Point running a SDS race because of them using American Racer tires. I think that is one of the things causing a problem for Deyo with him switching over to American Racer next year with his series and getting away from the open tire rule. Dirt is telling their sanctioned tracks you have to decide it is either a Deyo race or Dirt sanction one or the other. Article in the AARN says Deyo has one of his races scheduled at Big Diamond the same day as the SDS race was at New Egypt the past 2 years and Dirt will run a race either in Canada or at Grandview that same date. Looks like another pissing match starting.   :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

maybe that means that Eastern States wont be a series race next year.

re American Racers at Five Mile - anything is possible because Fonda had been using Racers in previous years before going back with Dirtcar this year.  Same with Brewerton and Fulton and pretty sure Big Diamond too.

from what I have been told Dirtcar is supposed to announce 3 new SDS races as part of dirt week.  we will probably hear something official in the next couple days.

Deyo already out draws them so you arent really taking much of a gamble there and nobody said he needed WRG.  just for the health of the sport it sucks to see the parties fighting and scheduling events against one another. absolutely, they should be working together.

whether you like 'em or not Dirtcar is still the biggest show.  they cover a massive amount of geography from Florida to Charlotte to the northeast and Ontario and Quebec AND they have SDW at Syracuse.  Plus the World Finals gives our drivers a national audience. no other promoter can touch that.

What is the politics with signing American Racer? That is the tire almost everyone chooses to run anyways, they are a better tire for those tracks period. NOthing against the Hoosiers.

DIRTcar is simply upset that Deyo drew 50 plus cars for the event. If you read Don and Joann Davies column a few weeks back is stated DIRTcar was in contact with NES basically saying they are trying topull the show out from under Deyo. They dont like competition. Honestly competiton is good for the drivers n fans. More money and more races.

A little bit of dirtcar sour grapes, they pulled the show and Deyo booked another one, whats the problem. He had the date so if thwey choose to book at Grandview that seems pretty stupid to me. It wont help anyone. The date is out!

We might have some dirt in our eyes but you maybe a little biased because of your last name??? Hmmm?

I agree!

I'm spending the whole weekend at the mile but there's no way I'd go to FMP because of all of canine's posts. Mud slinging like a politician.

I do think that the tire rule must bring in some money, and he will put that money back into the series, and not into his pocket like some promoters do. I imagine Brett has the racers in mind when making decisions like this.

That said, I am against the tire rule. I always thought the best part about Deyo shows was the loose rules, which is what the series was founded on. He made it so pretty much any car, any tire, any motor, from any track or series, would be legal for his shows. Sort of like the old days, just show up and run. You do not see that anymore in dirt racing, and now we will not see that again.
