Good to find out all that info since I'm not a expert on all drivers and every type of racing, I usually have observations with little knowledge not any where near on par with yours.

I agree.

A Chili Bowl A-main getting done prior to 10pm EST... That's laughable... If you wanna watch Saturday's finale I'd fire up the coffee pot because that usually doesn't get done until 1:30am or so.  And you'll need to keep yourself entertained somehow from the couch during the 45-60 minutes of track prep that gets done in between the C, B and A mains...

The Chili Bowl isn't exactly known for its ability to run an efficient show.

The Chili bowl is known for being an efficient event. 25ish races in about 14 hours on a dirt surface and push started cars is incredible. After six days of racing there is a priority on getting the track right for the finals. People there will wait for a good surface, people on flo can watch it the next day.

I think they do about as good as can be. I get annoyed with the constant track prep but they are just trying to make sure the surface stays as good as possible and doesn't lock down to a single file no passing train race. And especially on Saturday you have to take a break in between and work the track with that much constant racing.

They are also trying to keep the dust to a minimum.

One of the things you have to take into consideration on the Saturday show is that they have a lot of downtime for TV purposes.

No more TV anymore though....it's all Floracing now, right? Unless MAVTV is simulcasting?

It used to be MavTV that was having all the downtime for streaming. I’m sure Flo won’t be any different on Saturday night part on the show.

Shows like tonight are exactly why I drive 1300 miles to Tulsa every January. F***in awesome!!!!!

Was a good race for sure. Felt bad for Kofoid. Leading and get taken out in someone else's mess. Still a little unsure how he managed it though. Yellow was out, lights on and he sent it off into T1 straight into the wreck. I thought a lot of time passed between the initial wreck and then Kofoid getting involved but it might have been an illusion of TV vs seeing it in person.

Regardless, wild night and good racing.

Also there are tons of hotel options too. I always book mine for the next year a few weeks after the current year because it’s much cheaper in February than waiting until November. This week I have a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite @ Homewood Suites, checked in Saturday 1/7, checking out Sunday 1/15 (8 nights) with 3 of us splitting the $1454 cost.

I drove out from Tully NY. Left Friday 1/6 @ 7:44AM, stopped for the night Friday in Rolla MO, was in Tulsa at 11:00AM Saturday. From my driveway to the hotel my Jeep GPS said it was 1301 miles.

I’m wondering if an Air BnB would be cheaper for the entire week.  I’m not sure, just curious.  This is also a bucket list event for me, so trying to figure out the best options, since I’m a broke cheapskate 🤣

how was he even in position to lead to begin with? I just watched the replay highlights and he wrecked running 2nd early and restarted in 2nd and then took the lead. why didn't he go to the rear of the field?

I get agitated when NASCAR spends too much time educating the "new" fan.  But now I understand it.

I can't sit and watch every second or hour, especially early in the evening.  So if anyone can explain or correct my assumptions, I would appreciate it.

-8 heat races.  How many go to the qualifying races?  And do the rest go to C mains?  Or are they done?

-Qualifying races.  These send 2 to the feature.  And the rest go to C mains?

It’s all passing points.  Top 40 in points after the heats, go to qualifiers.  All others go to C mains.
Qualifiers are ran and top 16 in points following those are locked into the A, remaining cars are in the B’s

Top four from C’s transfer to B’s, top 4 from B’s transfer to A main.  Position in A for top 16 is determined by overall points from heat and qualifier.

I think he must of had a brain fart. He had lots of time to slow down. They announce over the intercom in the pits before things get started that if the yellow lights come on slow down because workers could be running out on the track to help a driver.

Can’t help but laugh, as soon as Mondays feature was over someone was on here bragging about how predictable the Chili Bowl is, and how fantastic they are at selecting every top driver to do well. Following Tuesday nights feature, nothing but 🦗. Gotta love public forums 🤣.

No idea. I missed the first 2 laps so I assume it was something before they completed a lap and he got his spot back on an original start?

I saw that happen at Wild West Saturday. Somebody wrecked, but since there were no laps in, they were able to restart in their original position.

I messaged someone and they said it was because he didn't come to a stop. it was only a highlight replay but looked like he was stopped to me as bowman was also collected and several others passed them after. unless it's a rule there only, i've never seen where you get your spot back once you bring out the caution unless you were spun out. he caused it himself

Yeah because anyone had anything for Kofoid if he didn't wreck. Give me a break. He had bad luck. That is the only reason why that race became nearly as exciting as it was.

Kofoid and McCreadie will still be in the mix on Saturday.

For as "quiet" as i was you sure didn't have a whole lot to say on Monday night either after it was nearly a 1-2 sweep the favorite drivers and locking in.

Feeling quite confident that at least half to 10 drivers of the 13 I selected will be in the A-main right now unless some more "bad luck" happens.

On another note, Spencer Bayston has looked fast all week and he definitely could be a driver in the mix on Saturday to help Baumes' field group. I briefly toyed with including him instead of Axom or McCreadie.
