The Styres family owns the speedway and brother Curt is a founding member of the multi million dollar cigarette manufacturer Grand River Enterprises located on Six Nations. I think they own a convenient store/gas station located on the 80 acre property. They built everything from the ground up and worked their asses off. I suspected a lease/borrow deal for both because it makes no sense to own either for him. Reading some of the replies here, my hunches were right. This is from Kenny Schrader’s Facebook page, First night at Volusia County Speedway for the Federated Auto Parts dirt car nationals. We qualified ninth in group A which had 51 cars. started third in the third of six features and finished fifth. First night in the new car five more to go!! Oshweken has something that every sprint car track should have, that little warmup lap area off of turn 3 which allows the sprints to just drive onto the racetrack. Damn, that’s a ton of equipment. Guys probably the best thing for dirt racing in southern Ontario in forever. if no one’s been to oshweken for a sprint race, go. The facilities are on par or better then weedsport, and the tracks better, most of the time. The crate sprint program the team at oshweken have developed over the past few years is crazy. 30+ sprints every night. I heard rumours they may even try to build modified chassis? He is building sprint chassis correct? He bought out cool Chassis, there was some drama involved so not sure how it ended up. Green, Yellow & Red.
