BobMiller
This past Friday and Saturday nights were the East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals at the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton for wingless Micros. I couldn't have been the only one who watched it on DTD TV. I've watched a bunch of off season racing, and the feature Saturday night was the best I've seen this winter - bar none. So rather than talk about an incredible race that ALMOST turned out to be the biggest upset this decade, we'd rather bicker about politics?

Agreed, maybe it's time to send the people that constantly bring up politics a little trip to tobyville. Sorry Bob, I read this thread before the OC one. Thank you
leroy
I did not buy the subcription to DTDTv. So I could not watch the Micro thing I was able to watch sprint cars from Lincoln on thursday and sunday. Also watched AMA supercross saturday night with the subscriptions I do have

That hardly would have been the biggest upset this decade. Good race? Yes. Almost an upset? Yes. Upset of the decade? Not even close. Do you actually watch dirt track racing? dan dan
Unlike most threads, when politics are involved the same few people have to non stop try to prove they are right and everyone else don't know squat. It happens in racing threads but not to same extent.

Billy Pauch Jr., son of one of the all time greats, established racer in his own right. Adrianna Delliponti - young female racer nobody ever heard of. Had that race finished without that last caution, she very well could have won it. Buckwalter had no idea she was coming and left the bottom open. She got a bad restart and fell back to 4th before clawing back to reclaim 3rd. You know what? I'm tired of your horseshit too. every time I post something, you come back with a confused emoji. See you around.

I love supercross because there are no provisional starters, everyone is starting side by side… 22 men headed for 1 corner. There are no marketing cases (bubba, Danica, mick Schumacher, Michael waltrip). 20 minutes plus 2 laps. Rarely a caution. Pure racing. 1

She is 17 and races a 600 Micro at Kutztown weekly and a Sportsman at Grandview each week. The Sportsman she drove last year was owned by longtime Modified driver Kenny Gilmore. She also suffers from an illness called gastroparesis, which is a digestive disorder in which only 20 percent of her stomach works. As a result, she lives with a feeding tube attached to her stomach. Delliponti made her first start in a 358-Modified at last season's Freedom 76, driving as a teammate to Tim Buckwalter. She did not qualify, however. Her uncle previously raced at Grandview in the 1990s. https://outsidegroove.com/2022/07/adrianna-delliponti-driven-to-race/#:~:text=She suffers from gastroparesis%2C along, sprint or a sportsman modified. https://nationalracingnetwork.com/2022/06/24/adrianna-delliponti-looking-to-make-some-history-at-historic-grandview-speedway/
BobMiller
I've never been to Kutztown, but it's on my "to do" list. I haven't been to Grandview in years. Once you get away from that general vicinity, it's likely nobody heard of her - agree? My point is, this decade is still young. Had she won that event, it would have been an enormous upset and maybe the biggest to this point of this decade. My daughter accuses me of being a misogynist for not seeing "talent" in swimsuit model female drivers. That's not true at all. On a Civil Service test, you shouldn't get bonus points for ethnicity, and you shouldn't get bonus points for posing half naked in an effort to advance in racing. Get there on MERIT. Adrianna Delliponti and Kaylee Bryson have done that.

I have gotten into it the last few years since both of my boys love it. I was at the race in Dallas on Saturday and it was quite the event. Great racing, tons of people, and the pre race lead ins really get the crowd into it. Only downer was paying what seemed like $100 for anything in that stadium. Jerry Jones does not believe in bargains that’s for sure! 😬

Went to an NHL game last weekend; two popcorns, one bottle of soda and two draft beers was $47 and change. And then of course you are prompted for a tip on top of that. I applaud those that have the discretionary dollars to justify it - I simply cannot. Oh and this was on top of $35 to park, about 500 yards from the entrance. I’ve been to supercross at Detroit (ford field and silver dome), Las Vegas, and Toronto. All great experiences. Show is done under 3 hours every time. Motocross is outdoor always, natural permanent course. Usually more elevation changes and faster. Supercross is temporary course usually in a stadium or dome. Tighter and slower but more focus on timing and 180/90 degree turns. Daytona supercross is not natural and is temporary. The difference is longer laps and big long straights more like motocross.

I've been to 5 Minnesota Vikings away games, but never a home one. So last month, totally on a whim, I flew out to Minneapolis for the Vikings/Giants playoff game, mostly just to experience the unbelievable atmosphere they have out there. Drove from Hartford CT area out to Logan (90 minutes one way) because the flights were $300 cheaper and nonstop compared to Bradley Airport which is 15 minutes from my house. One ticket (I went by myself) right at midfield 3rd row on 2nd level was $350. Hotel was $120 right by the airport. Train that takes you anywhere in the city was $2 for the entire day. Ate at Five Guys & McDonald's to avoid eating at the stadium. When I got back it was a $76 bill to park my truck at Logan for 36 hours. So between all that and the $600 flight it was a pretty expensive trip. And the Vikings lost. But you know what? Even if you told me the Vikings were going to lose ahead of time I would've went out there again. The playoff atmosphere was absolutely electric and everyone out there was so nice. And I was able to cross an item off my bucket list.
