KOD Championship Run Continues

FAIR HAVEN, VT-Overall Points Update: So much has changed in the Fastline Performance King Of Dirt Racing Overall Championship standings presented by Swagger Factory Apparel. It starts with Tyler Corcoran (CAN) and Joe Toth (NES) earning back-to-back wins at their respective home tracks, while both Cody Mcpherson (MTV) and Tim LaDuc (DBS) claimed victories as well.

Let’s start this week’s trio of highlighted KOD drivers with New Egypt Speedway racer Joe Toth. The Upper Makefield, PA driver has quietly made a lot of noise in 2022. He scored another victory giving him back-to-back wins and five total on the season. Toth is currently fourth in points driving his Belmont’s Garage – Izzi Trucking & Rigging number 9 Bicknell Racing Chassis.

Speaking of back-to-back winners, let’s visit Can-Am Speedway for our second driver highlight. Tyler Corcoran of Central Square, NY solidified his third track championship by winning his second in a row last Friday night. Corcoran is another driver making noise on the leaderboard late in the season driving his Halmar International – DTD.tv number 64 Bicknell Racing Chassis.

The third and final highlighted driver this week is Merrittville Speedway ace Cody McPherson. He picked up his eighth win of the year and also claimed a track championship. The St. Catherines Ontario Canada racer has had a stellar season winning at multiple tracks driving his Willard Concrete & Trucking – C. McPherson Jr. Trucking number 7 Bicknell Racing Chassis.

OVERALL KOD CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES: Tim LaDuc returned to victory lane at Devil’s Bowl Speedway Saturday night joining the trio of highlighted racers as the only four registered KOD competitors to earn victories last weekend. It was LaDuc’s fourth win of the season at the great crate place.

Home track field size bonus points have been awarded and added to a driver’s total. Some racers benefited from the bonuses, as it shook the point standings up with some drivers climbing the leaderboard and others slipping down. The bonus points were based on average field size each competitor raced against through the summer months.

Every race matters on a driver’s home track schedule and there are some big events coming during the fall ‘post season’ of racing. Any and all events are an opportunity for a driver to improve his best 12 finishes at his or her home track.
