Once again there are Limited Sportsman drivers moving and shaking the point standings on the weekly, as competitors continue to jockey for position on the leaderboard. There are new drivers climbing into the top 10, while others fall just outside. Can-Am, Lebanon Valley, and Five Mile Point competitors continue to put up strong finishes as they race to their best 12 finishes.
Kyle Dingman leads our trio of highlighted drivers this week. ‘Dinger’ earned his third Limited Sportsman win at Fonda Speedway Saturday night making the Mayfield, NY driver for a moment in time, the winningest driver in KOD Limited Sportsman series history driving his Dixie Saloon – Upstate RC & Hobbies number 1D Bicknell chassis.
Mike Parodi is emerging not only as a track title candidate at Albany-Saratoga, but a contender for the crown. The South Glens Falls, NY driver went back-to-back winning his second of the season climbing the standings to fourth driving his Counter Concepts – Saratoga Masonry number 30 Bicknell race rod.
Our final featured Limited Sportsman racer is Can-Am Speedway competitor Paul DeRuyter. The Inlet, NY driver earned his first victory of the season holding off the potent family of fast and furious racers Owen and Keegan Nier. Can-Am drivers only have four races so far, but a win certainly helps the Buzz Chew Chevrolet – North Country Market number 1D Bicknell chassis.
KOD LIMITED SPORTSMAN NOTES: It’s important to note that Can-Am, Lebanon Valley, and Five Mile Point racers are still very much alive in the point chase. Their respective tracks have been hampered by mother nature putting them just behind other speedways in terms of races run. There still chasing the goal of 12 best finishes on the season with plenty of racing left.
Albany-Saratoga competitor Ron Delease Jr. continues to move up the standings one spot at a time. This week he finds himself 9th overall on the leaderboard after another top 10 finish driving his Classic Muscle Parts – Timberline Café number 116 Teo Pro Car.
Devil’s Bowl Speedway competitor Jason Quenneville is on the rise. For the first time this season he finds himself top 10 in standings after a respective 9th place finish during Sunday afternoon’s Slate Valley racing program. Quenneville competes behind the wheel of his McGee Family Racing number 813 Teo Pro Car.
One final KOD Limited Sportsman note is about Walter Cook. The Waterford, NY driver is having a surprisingly consistent season at Fonda Speedway and finds himself just outside the top 10 in points currently in 11th. Cook drives the Lia Nissan of Saratoga – DAB Towing number 47 Teo Pro Car.
