410 Sprints Return to Big Diamond Friday August 13 After Eight-Year Absence

Lincoln Speedway - Billy Dietrich

MINERSVILLE, PA – This Friday night August 13th, the mighty winged 410 Sprint cars make their return to the Big Diamond Speedway. It will be the first appearance for the 410 Sprints since June 30, 2013, with Sam Hafertepe winning the feature event. The 410 sprint cars have made nine appearances at Big Diamond. The late Greg Hodnett had much success at the speedway with a total of five victories to his credit. Keith Kauffman, Lucas Wolfe, Brian Montieth and the aforementioned Sam Hafertepe have all graced victory lane at Big Diamond.

Friday’s race for the sprints will pay $4,500 to the winner with $1,000 for tenth and $400 to take the green. As a bonus, dirttrackdigest.tv will be awarding $250 to the driver with the quick time in time trials along with another $250 to the feature race hard charger. Billy Dietrich will be greeting the fans between 5:30 and 6:00 in the grandstands alongside his No. 8 sprint car.

The Savage 61 Crate 602 Sportsman division will also be in action on Friday night displaying the competitiveness that has been in the division all season long. Invader Steve Davis won his first ever Big Diamond feature event in the Andrew Fayash Memorial race. Steve Lyle still leads the way in the race for the 2021 Crate Sportsman title by 106 points over Danny Buccafusca with three races left to decide the title.

It will CRAZY 8’s time this Friday for the Red White and Blue Roadrunners as the division will race in total of four eight lap feature events. Each eight-lap feature will pay a separate set of points the drivers race for the season title. Andrew Fayash III currently is the points leader but Alex Schoffstall has been closing the gap steadily and in now only 127 points behind Fayash II. With each race a separate points event, a slip up be either driver could result in a big points shakeup.

Pit Gates will open on Friday night at 5:00 PM with the grandstand gates opening at 5:30 PM.

Pit passes are $30 for Big Diamond Speedway members. Non-member pit passes are $40.

Warmups get underway at 7:15 PM with racing starting at 7:45 PM.

General admission on Friday night will be $25, Kids under 16 are free. Active military are admitted free with a valid ID.
