The Can-Am Speedway in LaFargeville will close out it’s 2019 racing season this coming Friday and Saturday, September 6th and 7th, when they present the 2nd Annual “Showdown in September”. The action will get started Friday night when Cook’s Plumbing, Heating and Hardware presents the first night of exciting dirt track racing action.
Highlighting the nights program will be the fan favorite Empire Super Sprints. The last visit by the winged ESS Sprinters, saw record lap times turned around the lightning quick ½ mile oval. Joining the Empire Super Sprints will be a 30 lap DIRTcar Sportsman Series event which should bring in many of the DIRTcar Sportsman stars from around the Northeast as well as Ontario and Quebec to take on the Can-Am regulars.
Also on the schedule will be the Ron White Memorial-4 Cylinder Open. With many of the rules being opened up for this event a large field of 4 Cylinders are expected to make the haul to Can-Am for the $1000 to win special.
Filling out the night will be the return of the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour. After a year away from Can-Am, the Vintage racers are looking forward to their return. Fans love the Vintage style Modifieds featuring coupe, coach, gremlin and other wild style bodies from the past.
These 4 divisions should make for a packed pit area and fans can expect great racing in 4 distinctly different divisions.
Gates will open at 5:00 with racing getting the green flag at 7:30. For daily updates on this weekends “Showdown in September”, follow us on Facebook at Can-Am Speedway or call the Speedway at 315-876-3478
