Power Ready for Florida Big-Block Debut – DTD Exclusive

By DON SIMPSON

Long-time Sportsman Modified driver Jessica Power will join the big-block Modified ranks this February at Volusia Speedway Park as part of the annual DIRTcar Nationals. Power, who has a wealth of experience racing in the Sportsman class, is excited to take on the new challenge of competing at the big-block level. This will be an exciting opportunity for Power to showcase her skills and prove she can compete against the top drivers in the sport.

This is only the first step in the team’s transition to full-time racing in the 358-Modified division scheduled for 2024.

This season Jessica will remain in the Sportsman class throughout the 2023 year and will race in further special events as the season unfolds as they prepare for next season.

“I am incredibly excited to race at Volusia,” said Power. “It’s a place I’ve only ever had the chance to watch on TV. I love big tracks like that. It will be a massive step from Sportsman to big-block, but I’m looking forward to it. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for me and I cannot thank my sponsors enough. We are hoping that this will be a step towards racing 358 full-time in 2024. Our goal is to race a handful of races this year, but we will need some more sponsorship support to make it all happen.”

The team would like to take a moment to thank Jessica Power’s sponsors for their support. Without their contributions, Jessica would not have had the opportunity to compete at the big-block Modified level with the Super DIRTcar Modified series. These sponsors have invested in Jessica and her racing career, and we are grateful for their commitment to her success. We would like to especially thank the following sponsors for their support: Greenshield, Mobil 1, Qwick Wick, Auto Add-On, The Man Shoppe, Hucks Marine, and KMJ .

As the season progresses, the team will issue additional press releases.
