CORNWALL, ONT – After a successful and busy first weekend, the Cornwall Motor Speedway will host a complete race program in all division this coming Sunday, May 27 as Bank of Montreal will be the nightly sponsor for this third event of the season.
After two big events with the 100-lap Draper Doors Canadian Nationals and the 40-lap race of Monday afternoon, the drivers of the Polar Sound DJ Service Modified division are back in action for a regular 30-lap race. Some of our local runners did well in the first weekend as Carey Terrance leads the point’s championship after being in the hunt to win both races. Current track champion, Chris Raabe is also well positioned in second in front of Brian McDonald, Kyle Dingwall and rookie contender Dany Gagné.
In the Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman division, Shane Pecore leads the way but he is only planning to run the big events, this opens the championship hunt to second place runner Brianna Ladouceur who had a great start to her season, she leads over new regular Moise Page, Tristan Draper and Justin Lalancette. The Sportsman will run a 25-lap event.
Back as a full-time runner in Cornwall for 2018, Jocelyn Roy made a good start to his season as a new champion will be crowned this year with George Renaud being absent last weekend. Roy will have his hands full with Stephane Lebrun, Roch Aubin, CD Beauchamp and several others.
Defending Tracy Wheeler Assist2Sell Mini-Stock champion, Marc Dagenais and rookie of the year, Karl Potvin started their year with swapping the top 2 position, Dagenais looks like to be the man again this season but Potvin and others will look into getting that coveted title.
