CORNWALL, ONT – Sprint Car fans will be pleased as the Empire Super Sprints are in town this coming Sunday evening for their annual trek at Cornwall Motor Speedway along with a complete race program in all other divisions as Green Tech John Deere will be the sponsor of the evening.

Celebrating their 35th anniversary in 2018, the Empire Super Sprints should have a solid group of 360 powered sprint cars to the speedway with a good mixture of American, Ontario and Quebec drivers that will form the field. Being in Canada for 3 consecutive nights will spark interest for travelling teams and more cars are expected. Jason Barney currently leads the way in the points over young gun Coleman Gulick and local runner Matt Billings. While the championship is mainly led by Americans, we will see the Poirier family led by Steve and Jordan, Patrick Vigneault, Yan Bilodeau, Guillaume Nedeirer and several others in the pits.

In the Polar Sound DJ Services Modifieds, Carey Terrance is currently building himself a good lead over the field with 35 points separating him to Kyle Dingwall. The points are closer from positions 2 to 5, with Dingwall, Chris Raabe, Kayle Robidoux, J-F Corriveau and Brian McDonald tied for fifth. A regular 30-lap event is scheduled as three different drivers visited the winner circle so far this season.

Similar to the Modifieds, one drivers is extending his lead in the Next Level Home Improvement championship as Shane Pecore is now holding a 20-point lead over Brianna Ladouceur. Pecore won the initial event and did not finish worse than fourth in the first 3 races. His consistency will be hard to match but there is some good contenders in Ladouceur, Tristan Draper, Justin Lalancette and Ricky Thompson who are currently in the front five positions. A 25-lap event is on tap.

The Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock have offered some great racing so far this season, Jocelyn Roy is the driver to beat so far, winning the first two events of the season after good battles with Stephane Lebrun and CD Beauchamp. The championship is far from over and action continues with a 25-lap feature. The Tracy Wheeler Assist2Sell Mini-Stock will complete a busy evening with a 15-lap feature event.
