CORNWALL, ONT – This coming Sunday, Cornwall Motor Speedway will host 2 visiting classes from the Quebec province as the Quebec Mod-Lite and Mini-Modifieds will be in town along with a full program as the Mini-Stock will have a night off on Propane Levac sponsored evening.
The Quebec Mod-Lite will be in town with field of approximately 20 cars on hand as they will run their fifth event of the season. Looking at the point’s championship, Kevin Parenteau leads the way over Eric Desilets and Kevin Burke. Parity is installed in the group as 4 different drivers visited the winner circle so far. Most of these drivers will also be back for the Can-Am Mod-Lite challenge scheduled in August.
The Quebec Mini-Modifieds are back as well for 2018, they have provided great action in their last 2 visits and will be in Ontario for 2 shows in a row with a visit at Brockville the night before. They will run their fourth and fifth event of the season as nearly 20 drivers will be in the pits ready for the 20-lap event.
The Polar Sound DJ Services Modified will run a regular program this Sunday evening in preparation for their biggest event scheduled this coming Thursday, July 12th as the Race for the Cure 150 will be run with a winner’s share of $12,000 and nearly $40,000 in purse given out. We could see a few additional cars trying for some track time.
In the very competitive Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman division, Shane Pecore is holding his grounds on top of the championship having a 34-point lead over Brianna Ladouceur with defending champion Justin Lalancette in third. Tristan Draper and Thomas Cook are completing the top 5. They will run their usual 25-lap race.
After a week off, the Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock will be back in action for 25 laps, CD Beauchamp has a slight 8-point edge over Jocelyn Roy as Stephane Lebrun sits in third place. The Tracy Wheeler Assist2Sell Mini-Stock will have the night off.
The pit gate will open at 3pm access price at 25$; general admission will be opening at 4:30pm with entry prices set at 15$ for adults, 10$ for seniors 65 years and plus and kids 16 years and under can enter for 2$. Heat races are scheduled to start at 6:30pm.
