Cornwall Motor Speedway - Brian McDonald, Yan Bussiere

CORNWALL, ONT – With the recent decision announced by the government of Ontario, we have more clarity for the upcoming months and the Lavergne family is announcing a 2021 calendar that includes a dozens of events that will extend until mid-September.

With some restrictions still in place such as the closure of the American border and limited amount of people in the grandstand, the focus of the calendar will be on local series.

Fans had a glimpse last week as they were greeted with the first round of the Fat Les Chip Stand Canadian Nationals and Race for the Cure Sportsman Series. Both series, gathered some of the best drivers from Ontario and Quebec and we should see stellar field for the other round scheduled for August 1 and September 5 for the Canadian Nationals as the Race for the Cure has an additional round on August 15.

The Big Blocks will be in town on Wednesday, July 21 with a unique 3-day Canadian Series with stops at Drummondville, Granby and Cornwall, each night will be 75 laps green only, with the winner getting $3,000 and some bonus money for the best small block runner. We should get a good field of cars for this event as it is building a lot of interest.

The Weekend Warriors Pro-Stock and Mini-Stock Series are back, and a lot of money is on the line in the points fund for the Pro-Stock with $4,000 up for grabs. The first round is scheduled on July 18 and will be mixed with the Farnham Ale Lager Canadian Series for 50-lap and a whopping $2,000 going to the winner! Both Pro-Stock and Mini-Stock Series will run on July 18, August 8 and September 5.

Some visiting series such as the Lightning Sprints, Vintage, Midget STR and Mini-Modified are sprinkled around the calendar. We were able to secure the Crate Late Model Series on August 15 while the Action Sprint Tour should bring a great car of Crate Sprint Cars on August 22.

The year will close out with the Fireball Enduro Weekend on September 18 and 19, with 6 classes in action, it was best to divide on two 2 days.
