CORNWALL,ON– The Quebec/Ontario Challenge is starting this coming Friday evening as both the Restaurant Le Grinder 358- Modified and the Lussier Chevrolet/DRIVR Académie Sportsman will both be in action.
This new series developed in collaboration between 5 tracks will also make a stop in
Cornwall on July 17, RPM Speedway on September 9, Autodrome Drummond on
September 10 and finish in Brockville on October 14.
Part of a big 3-day event called Quebec Bowl Weekend, both series are making a stop the
speedway promoted by Dominic Lussier this Friday evening and should attract a lot of
cars in both 358 and Sportsman.
Several invaders such as Carey Terrance, Corey Wheeler, Ryan Arbuthnot, Joey
Ladouceur, Gage Morin, Louie Jackson, Darryl Mitchell, Jarrett Herbison in the 358-
Modifieds and Shane Pecore, Gabriel Cyr, Justin Cyr, Ryan Stabler, Thomas Cook,
Adam Rozon, Fire Swamp and Cedric Gauvreau in the Sportsman are coming from
Ontario and Northern United-States to compete for round 1, the list might continue to
grow and we might have some last minute additions on race day!
Local turf will be defended by David Hebert, Steve and Francois Bernier, Michael Parent,
Luke Whitteker, Jeremy and Felix Roy, Yan Bussiere, Martin Pelletier, Dany Gagné and
many others in the 358 and Christopher Cormier, Alex Salvas, Yannick Ledoux, Steve
Turcotte, Sam CharlandCar, William Racine, Martin Lessard, Moise Page, Antoine Parent
and Aryane Imbeault, just to name a few in the Sportsman.
The combination of the Ontario drivers plus visitors from Quebec will boost fields in
both divisions as the 358-Modified should get around 30 cars and Sportsman north of 40
entries for the occasion.
The winner of Friday will get a cool $4,000 in the 358 Le Grinder and it will be $1,000 in
the Sportsman Lussier Chevrolet/DRIVR, a 75-lap feature is scheduled in the Modified
and 40 laps in the Sportsman. The points fund for the series will be $5,000 in the
Modifieds and $3,000 in the Sportsman, top 5 finishers will receive money for the points
