Quebec/Ontario Challenge Resumes at Cornwall Sunday

CORNWALL, ON– Martin Bélanger –  The Quebec/Ontario Challenge is back this coming Sunday evening at the Cornwall Motor Speedway as both the Restaurant Le Grinder 358-Modified and the Lussier Chevrolet/DRIVR Académie Sportsman, will both be in action.

After a first race dominated by locals as the top 5 was composed of David Hébert, Steve Bernier, Alex Therrien, Yan Bussière and Francois Bernier, will we see a similar scenario in Cornwall this Sunday? Chris Raabe has been on a hot streak lately at the speedway along with Corey Wheeler, Carey Terrance, J-F Corriveau, Jonathan Ferguson, Louis Jackson Jr and many others. Some invaders such as Mat Williamson and Ryan Arbuthnot who finished 8th in the initial race are expected to be in the pits.

The results was a bit different in the Sportsman as Gabriel Cyr led the whole event fending off charges of several contenders and captured the win over Alex Lajoie, Gorden Clair, Shane Pecore and Patrick Picotin. Again, we should have a great field of cars as the Cyr, Pecore, Ryan Stabler, Cedric Gauvreau, Gilles Godard will be awaiting the Quebec drivers as the overall finish might be a little bit different after the 40-lap event.

The winner on Sunday will get a cool $4,000 in the 358 Le Grinder and it will be $1,000 in the Sportsman Lussier Chevrolet/DRIVR, a 60-lap feature is scheduled in the Modified and 40 laps in the Sportsman. The points fund for the series will be $5,000 in the Modifieds as the champion will get $2,500, second will have $1,500 and this $1,000. The Sportsman, top 3 finishers will receive money for the points fund with the champion receiving $1,500, second $1,000 and third $500.
