Accord, Delaware & Brookfield Next STSS Stops

MILLSBORO, DE – Back at it.

After a break of one month, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco 10th anniversary season returns to action in May with three events. Both the STSS Modifieds and Crate 602 Sportsman will hit the track at a trio of facilities.

Gary Palmer’s redesigned Accord (N.Y.) Speedway hosts the STSS on Tuesday, May 9. During the off-season, Palmer and his staff have instituted wholesale changes to the Ulster County facility.

The steel wall has been removed and a new wall in place on the backstretch, providing a wider, sweeping D-shaped layout. Banking has been reduced, corners widened, and fresh clay applied during a busy spring. Additional lighting has also been installed.

Accord teams with series organizer Brett Deyo to present the ‘Battle of the Bullring’ in its 10th running featuring the STSS Modifieds in a 50-lap, $6,000-to-win contest paying $1,000 for 10th and $500 to take the green. River Valley Builders North Region points are at stake. STSS Crate 602 Sportsman battle 25 laps for $1,500 to win in a Precision Hydraulic & Oil North Region points-paying event. Four Cylinders complete the card.




A rain date of Wednesday, May 10 is in place.

Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, Del., has experienced a resurgent ’23 early season now promoted by BD Motorsports Media LLC under the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series banner.

The ‘Diamond State 50’ event, rich in First State auto racing history, offers STSS Rent Equip/Party Central Modifieds 50 laps for $5,000 to win, $1,000 for 10th and $500 to take the green flag plus STSS Crate 602 Sportsman racing 25 laps for $1,500 to win in a Belmont’s Garage South Region race. Delaware Super Trucks and Delmarva Chargers complete the program.

Wednesday, May 17 is the Delaware International rain date.

Historic Brookfield Speedway, located on the Madison County Fairgrounds in Brookfield, N.Y., makes history with its first-ever STSS Crate 602 Sportsman event on Sunday, May 28.

The Precision Hydraulic & Oil North Region Crate 602 Sportsman contingent hits the Brookfield paperclip in a 25-lap, $1,500-to-win affair joined by the Pro/Street Stocks, Slingshots (All-Star & Junior divisions) and Four Cylinders.

Monday, May 29 is the rain date for Brookfield.
