Bill Profota Crowned 2022 Canadian Nostalgia Champion

PORT COLBORNE, ON – The Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour wrapped up its 2022 Canadian series this past weekend at the Ohsweken Speedway Friday and Saturday at the Humberstone Speedway.

When all the Southern Ontario dust had settled, Bill Profota of Dresden, On would claim the Championship by a mere four points over Hannah Ferrell of Scotland, On,

Ferrell had a seven point cushion over Profota heading into the Humberstone race but a blag flag for leaving fluid on the racing surface followed by a late race jingle would allow Profota to claim the title.

Friday at Ohsweken Doug Gordon would claim his first ever DMNT checkers by edging out the high flying Andy Imbeault of Niagara Falls,On in a highly entertaining race which featured multiple lead changes during the 15 lap affair. Local favorite Mark Shadwell of Hamilton, On would complete the podium.

Shadwell would claim the 20 lap feature on Saturday at Humbersrtone and pocket $500 for his efforts. He would be followed by Bill Montreuil of St. Catherines, On and Kingston, Ontario’s Tim Hegarty who looked to have finally turned things around after struggling the past month with the 40 car.

The Canadian swing may be over but the series continues this Saturday at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Center Lisle, NY.
