Moving to 358 Modifieds, Ryan Scott Looks Forward to the 2022 Season

By JIM CLARKE

There comes a moment in every racer’s career when they know they’re ready to move on. For Ryan Scott, that time came at the end of the 2021 schedule when the driver of the No. 33 machine in Brockville Ontario Speedway’s DIRTcar Sportsman-Modified ranks confirmed plans to make the switch to the Small Block Modified division.

With a resume that includes season track championships that date back to 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2012 in the Can Am, Thunder Alley and Brewerton Speedway IMCA Modified ranks. Scott also picked-up the 2013 and 2014 Canadian Mod titles at Brighton and Brockville’s 2018 and 2019 Sportsman crowns. The 37-year-old from Gananoque, Ontario says he’s looking forward to the challenge of a new weekly racing class.

“I have to thank my family, friends and fans for their encouragement and support throughout the years,” explained Scott. “Jamie and Andrew Young along with the entire Young Motorsports team have given me some amazing equipment over the last few years in the Sportsman ranks and I’m really excited to see what lies ahead as we head into 2022 with the Small Block Modified field.”

The Young Motorsports shop has been a hive of activity as the new season approaches. Drivers and crew members are not only spending some long hours completing the transformation of Ryan Scott’s ride for his maiden voyage in a new division, but they’re also getting the No. 29 and No. 92 Sportsman cars prepped for the first green flag.

Heading into his inaugural season with the 358 Modifieds, Ryan Scott’s program and the teams of Jamie and Andrew Young will be supported by

J & J Automotive and Race Parts, Dion Construction, Clark’s Water Service, Comfort Rich Insulation, R & L Designs and Dale General Contractors. While the teams will stay close to its Brockville Ontario Speedway home base, they’re also looking for additional marketing partners that would allow the opportunity to travel to some different tracks and possibly follow some of the high profile season-sending events.

Fans, family and friends can follow the teams through the J & J Automotive and Race Parts or Young Motorsports Facebook pages. Prospective marketing partners can reach out by email, reception@jandjautomotive.ca.
