CORNWALL, ONT – After a great opening night last Sunday, the action continues with 5 classes in total, as the Lightning Sprints will join our 4 regular divisions on a night sponsored by The Co-Operators.
The Lightning Sprints will make their first of 3 visits at the speedway this Sunday as they will compete for 2 championships, the first one is their season long AMSQ-Immovex and the second one will be the 417 Bus Line that includes treks to Mohawk and Airborne. So far, only Tomy Moreau visited the winner circle last Saturday as it will be round 2 in their 2019 schedule, we are expecting a field of over 20 cars for their initial visit this season.
After a big opening event last week with 100 laps, the Loud and Dirty Modified division is back to regular business with a 30-lap affair, JF Corriveau who should be a regular in 2019 was the best of our local runners with his runner-up performance in front of David Hebert and Corey Wheeler who had top 5 runs as well in front of a stellar field for the Canadian Nationals event. The field of cars should be around 18 to 20 cars on any given night.
Shane Pecore started his year in great fashion by winning the opening round of the Race for the Cure Series, Pecore will be to watch all season long in the Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman category. A 25-lap feature event is scheduled next Sunday.
The field of cars in the Tracy Wheeler Assist2Sell Mini-Stock class should continue to grow as some expected regulars were missing last Sunday due to inclement weather, they will run a 15-lap feature event.
The pit gates will open at 3pm to welcome the drivers, the admission cost will be $25. In general admission, doors will open at 4:30pm with a price of $15 for adults, $10 for senior 65 years plus and kids 16 years and under, it will cost $2 to access the grandstands.
