SprintCarUnlimited.com and DIG Race Products Provide Extra Rewards for DTD Lockdown Showdown

BREWERTON, NY – Although the outdoor racing season is on hold, the iRacing world is going strong right now as everyone tries to get their racing fix.

Earlier in the week, Dirt Track Digest announced the iRacing DTD Lockdown Showdown at the virtual Knoxville Raceway this coming Thursday, Friday and Saturday (April 9-11).  The event will be broadcast via Dirt Track Digest TV on the Dirt Track Digest Facebook page beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday before a 7 p.m. start time on Saturday.

Soon after the announcement, SprintCarUnlimited.com came on board to be the presenting sponsor of the event.  SprintCarUnlimited.com is a news and information website devoted to the coverage of Sprint Car racing. As a result of their contributions, each preliminary night the driver that sets fast time will earn an extra $25.  The hard charger in Saturday night’s A-Main will also score $50 courtesy of the site.  Jeremy Elliott is also offering $50 to the highest finishing “invited” driver on Saturday night.

“Even though we aren’t racing outdoors right now due to the COVID-19 situation, we are still providing exclusive stories on a daily basis,” commented site owner Elliott.  “We are excited to spread the word on what we are doing by working with Dirt Track Digest on the Lockdown Showdown.”

DIG Race Products will sponsor the A-Main on each night with $30 going to the winner of the Thursday and Friday night A-Mains along with $20 to the second place finisher.

The overall purse for the three-day event is now $850.  The total purse for the Saturday night A-Main is $500 with the winner picking up $200 after Kyle DeMetro Motorsports added $25.  Second earns $125 with third scoring $90.  Fourth place takes home $60 while fifth picks up $50.

ADDITION (4/7/20): The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints have now just upped the totals for each night.  Each preliminary night B-Main winner as well as the Saturday night B-Main winner will receive $25 courtesy of the traveling organization.

ADDITION (4/7/20): Camp Mayhem has put up $25 to the drivers that finishes seventh in Saturday night’s B-Main.

ADDITION (4/7/20): Kyle DeMetro Racing has added $50 for Saturday’s A-Main.  The winner will now make $200 and the 15th place finisher will get $25.

There are 60 drivers slated to qualify each night with a portion of the field dedicated to “invited” Northeast race drivers.  Points will be tallied on Thursday and Friday with the top 50 iRacers moving on to Saturday night along with a minimum of the top 10 “invited” Northeast drivers making the show.
