Precision Hydraulic & Oil to Present Special Crate Sportsman Race at the All-New Bridgeport Motorsports Park

By KEN BRUCE

When the government releases its restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many racetracks will be ready to get the season underway, none more ready than Bridgeport Motorsports Park. The former Bridgeport Speedway has been purchased by long time race enthusiast Doug Rose and has been totally revamped. Gone is the five-eight’s mile dirt oval, in place now is a four-tenths high banked dirt oval ready for action when the time is right, and the racing season can begin.

Enter Joe Infante, owner of Precision Hydraulic & Oil. Joe has been involved in racing for many years and sponsors many drivers that we all see on a regular basis. The Precision Hydraulic & Oil logo can be seen on many race cars throughout the Northeast. The Crate Sportsman class has always held a special place for the Precision Hydraulic & Oil team and when we get back to racing Joe would like to give the Crate Sportsman class something to look forward to.

Although no date can be announced as of today, when racing resumes Precision Hydraulic & Oil will present a special 30-lap race for the Crate 602 Division at Bridgeport Motorsports Park as part of the track’s “Wildcard Weekend.”

The race will be called the “Precision Hydraulics & Oil Sportsman Invitational.” The winner of the race will receive a winner’s share of $3,000. This special race is being put on by Joe Infante and Precision Hydraulic & Oil with many more announcements to be made in the near future regarding the balance of the purse along with special bonuses and lap money.

“The Sportsman class has always been special to me,” cited Infante. “We wanted to do something and put on a show to give back to our racing family and what a better way to do it then to highlight the Sportsman division. I would like to say thank you to Doug and Brittany Rose for allowing us this opportunity at their new and unbelievable awesome track. I have had the pleasure of seeing what they have done to the track and let me tell you pictures don’t do it justice. When people see what they have done, they are going to be amazed. The new lighting should make it look like it’s daylight racing and the new high banked track should put on some really super racing.”

The race is an invitational race with the requirements listed below:
1. Drivers will have to be full-time Crate Sportsman Racer (No Modified Drivers)
2. Drivers must be a regular at a track or series
3. Must be an existing customer using Xtreme Racing Oil and/or NANO MT products
4. Teams would have to have bought five cases throughout the year to participate
5. American Racer tires will be mandatory
6. There will be a June 30th cutoff to be eligible
