Youth Night and Montrose Community this Saturday at Five Mile Point

KIRKWOOD, NY – The mid-summer racing battles heat up this Saturday at Five Mile Point Speedway with another huge night of racing on the quarter mile oval. This Saturday is Youth Night and Montrose Community Night. Racing begins at 6:30 p.m.

Five Mile Point Speedway has always set the standard in local family affordable fun. This Saturday is another Youth Night at the speedway. This means that all kids 17 years old and younger will be admitted in to the grandstand FREE of charge.

This Saturday is also Montrose Community Night. All Montrose, PA residents showing photo i.d. at the ticket booth will be admitted free in to the grandstand area. Residence can also get behind their local driver Devon Zona in the Crate Sportsman division. Zona is currently sitting tenth in the divisional point standings.

The point races in all the classes are some of the closest ever. Currently the battle for the Modified Track Championship is a tie between Oxford’s Rusty Smith and Brian Malcolm from Old Forge, PA. Malcolm recorded his first win in several years back on June 9th. Smith is looking for his first ever Modified victory at Five Mile Point Speedway. Last year he came up just two laps short in one of the biggest races of the year as a flat tire sent him to the pits while leading.

This Saturday will see a full program of racing action that includes the Modifieds, Crate Sportsman, Street Stocks, Xcel 600 Modfieds and Juniors, Factory Stocks and Lightning Cat Experts and Novice. This Saturday will also give fans a chance to meet some of the Lightning Cat Four Cylinder Drivers as they will have a special “Meet and Greet” during the evening.

The action on the track has been second to none all season long and this Saturday should be no different. The weather looks fantastic for fans planning on attending so getting to the speedway early will certainly provide the best view of the intense action.

Kids 17 years old and younger will be admitted in to the grandstand free of charge. Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. with grandstand gates opening at 4:30 p.m. Practice gets underway for the teams at 5:30 p.m. with racing set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
