Outlaw Modifieds are the Weekly Attraction as Freedom Motorsports Park Opens the 2017 Season on Friday May 12

DELEVAN, N.Y.- This is the season of Big and Small Block Outlaw Modifieds at Freedom Motorsports Park as the high powered cars will be the weekly featured attraction at the Thrill on the Hill in 2017. Joining the Prime Time Energy Services Modifieds each Friday night will be the Tidds Towing DIRTcar Sportsman, Pioneer Ford Street Stocks and the Danny Heineman & Sons Plumbing Mini Stocks. The first green flag of the year is scheduled for 7:30 pm on Friday May 12.

Although Mother Nature forced cancellation of the practice and Enduro on Sunday May 7 (rescheduled for Sunday May 21), the anticipation and excitement remains high as the east coast’s most geographically unique field of Modifieds will invade Freedom Motorsports Park.

Modified drivers from New York, Pennsylvania and Canada will be in competing for the first time ever at the fast 1/3 mile oval. There may be a slight home field advantage for the track’s Dirtcar Sportsman competitors who will move to the ultra fast Modifieds. However, the competition will be fierce as the majority of drivers will be turning their first laps ever at Freedom. Also, a brand new clay surface awaits the participants.

Former Tidds Towing Dirtcar Sportsman Champions Ray Bliss and Tony Pangrazio will compete in the Modifieds. They will be challenged by a host of New York Modified drivers including Ron Cartwright Jr., Brian Sage and Randy Chrysler. The Keystone State will be represented by numerous entries including Kyle Fink and Brad Rapp. Scott Wood and Shayne Pierce will be among the Canadian competitors trying to capture the checkered flag. Top asphalt modified competitor Patrick Emerling will also try his hand at Freedom in a brand new ride. This diverse group will compete in both big and small block Modifieds with sail panels.

The Tidds Towing Dirtcar Sportsman Modifieds will be led to the line by first time Freedom Motorsports Park champion Brad Rouse who took five wins in 2016 and won the title on the last night of the season. In the Pioneer Ford Street Stocks, veteran Al Brewer returns as a two year in a row champion after a seven win season in the Scott Bond racer. Danny Heineman and Sons Plumbing Mini Stock champion Brad Shepard will not return full time this year which opens the championship door in the competitive division.
