KOKOMO, IN – Justin Peck’s streak of bad luck finally came to an end on Tuesday night with a win at the Kokomo Speedway in the High Limit Racing Series. Peck won $26,023 for his triumph, his first since January in Florida.
Peck started third, behind Corey Day and Kyle Larson. Day and Larson raced away early, while Peck put together solid laps to keep pace.
Larson got around Day on lap eight to take the lead in traffic. Peck did the same on lap 16.
Peck continued to chase Larson for the top spot as they diced in and out of three- and four-wide lapped cars.
His moment came on lap 26, when Larson bounced off the outside wall in turn two after hopping the cushion. Peck bolted away.
He faced one more challenge from Larson and the rest of the field when the caution flag flew with 33 laps complete for a spin by Dylan Norris.
Peck was up to the task. He kept Larson behind him for the final two laps to earn a much-needed victory.
Larson finished in second, followed by Rico Abreu in third. Day finished fourth, followed by Cole Macedo in fifth.
