Dirt Track Digest ISCA Big-Block Modified iRacing League Presented by Billy Whittaker Cars & Trux Kicks-Off December 16

BREWERTON, NY – The Big-Block Modifieds have officially arrived for iRacing!

With that said, Dirt Track Digest is ready to support the launch of our Northeast style cars with our first ever officially sanctioned series.  The ISCA Dirt Track Digest Big-Block Series presented by Billy Whittaker Cars and Trux is slated for five events to cure you of the winter racing blues.

The series is slated to begin on Wednesday, December 16 and will run until January 20th.  All events will be broadcast beginning at 8:30pm each Wednesday night on Dirt Track Digest’s Facebook page.  Tracks included in the virtual series are Volusia Speedway Park, Lernerville Speedway, Weedsport Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway and The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

During the beginning of the COVID-19 shutdown, Dirt Track Digest successfully held two events on the iRacing platform with the Lockdown Showdown and the Confinement Classic.  Both events utilized a unique format for qualifying, and much like those events, this new series features a unique format.  Drivers will run time trials, then be split into three 15 or 20-lap Integra Racing Shocks Qualifiers. The top eight drivers from each Integra Racing Shocks Qualifier then move on to the main-event for the night.  There are no consolation events, you either race your way in or you are done for the night.

Throughout the series, yellow flags will be utilized with in-race penalties being assessed as they happen to ensure a level playing field for everyone.  An experienced team of iRacers and officials with real race track experience will make all calls through the evening.

Like our prior events, real drivers are slated to compete against some of the best iRacing has to offer.  Dirt Track Digest is currently compiling a list of some of the Northeast’s best.  If you are a real driver in the Modified or Sportsman ranks and would like to be included in the series as an invite driver, please email or contact via Facebook league administrators Mike Mallett at mikemallett@dirttrackdigest.com, or Bobby Sweeney at rsweeney@oswego.edu.  Our team will make the final call on all additions of drivers to this category.

We will begin accepting applications to the league beginning on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4.  Final decisions on who makes the league will be determined by Monday, December 14.  Please include your real name as well as your iRacing name and member ID for our records as we will be examining iRating and safety record for who makes the cut for the league. A total of 55 drivers will race in the series.

Drivers finishing in the top three on the podium each night receive $75 for the win, $50 for second with $25 going to the third-place driver courtesy of Billy Whittaker Cars and Trux.  The Short Track Super Series is also sponsoring the invite driver bonus of $50 to the first driver in the finish and $25 to the second highest finishing invite driver across the line.

Dirt Track Digest is currently looking for more sponsors to solidify the point fund, but as of now, the winner of the overall points hunt will receive $300 along with Dirt Track Digest apparel.   If you’d like to sponsor an event please contact Mike Mallett via Facebook or at mikemallett@dirttrackdigest.com.
