LOCK HAVEN, PA – Clinton County Motor Speedway is getting closer to the start of the second season under the direction of Sam Ray of Milesburg, Pa., and Wayne Cochran of Williamsport, Pa. Both men have put a ton of time and energy into turning the area speedway back into a first-class racing facility. The track will have two practice dates on Friday April 21st and 28th, before the first official race happens on Friday May 5th, when four of the tracks seven divisions will be in action. Limited late models, 305 sprints, 270-micro sprints and Front Wheel Drive four-cylinders will see action on May 5th. Other divisions that will see action during the season will be 600-micro-sprints, Pro-Stocks, and there will also be four special races for the super late models.
C&E Containers of Jersey Shore, Pa. will be back to sponsor the Limited Late model class, along with Freyco racing and Superfly Shocks of Dover, Pa. will be teaming up to sponsor the Limited class. The Auto Barn of Linden will sponsor the 305-sprint class again this year, and is also supplying the pace truck for the speedway. Engle’s Fuels/Markets will again sponsor the 600-micro sprint class, with Fogelman’s Garage of Watsontown, Pa. back to sponsor the four super late model races. The Pro-Stock class will have a new sponsor for the 2017 season coming from TC Transportation Inc. of Bellefonte, Pa., Tom Capparelle and his company which do Bulk Transportation and Landscape mulches are looking forward to working with the speedway this season. The Front Wheel drive Four-Cylinder class will also have a new sponsor which will be Glenn Hawbaker Inc. of Pleasant Gap, PA., who deals in Heavy Construction Services and Products. The track is looking into a new sponsor for the 270 Micro-Sprint class for the 2017 season, anyone interested may call the speedway at 1-570-971-2126.
The new Mason-Dixon limited late model series will be making two appearances at CCMS with the first coming on Stout Pro Auto of Jersey Shore, Pa., night on Friday June 2nd. The other event will take place on Friday August 18th. The first super late model race will take place on Friday June 16th with G&R Excavating and Demolition of Tyrone, Pa. sponsoring the night’s activities. July 21 race for the supers will have Stocker Chevrolet of State College, Pa., sponsoring the races, with the third event on August 4th sponsored by Strouse Electric, with the fourth date for the supers to be announced soon.
