BATAVIA, NY – A season-long chase for a 2017 division championship will all come down to one last race to put punctuation on their summer. In addition, some big money is on the line for the late model drivers which will only intensify the action.

This Saturday, September 2, BDK Construction and Trucking will present Championship Night at Genesee Speedway, where six drivers will be crowned champions. Only Dante Mancuso in the Pellegrino Auto Sales Mini Stocks has accrued enough of an advantage to secure a title already, meaning five other races are still up for grabs.

Two divisions will be running for $2,000-to-win on Saturday, with funding made possible in part by BDK Construction. Brian Kotarski and company are also allowing fans to join in on the winning, with raffle tickets being sold for four lucky recipients to walk away with a payday that could be as large as $8,000.

One of the divisions running for $2,000-to-win are the MHL Performance Crate Late Models who are running the Terry Pangrazio Memorial. JJ Mazur, who won last Saturday, holds a 16-point lead in the division in pursuit of his first track championship, but Zack Carley is still within striking distance as he chases after similar glory.

The Ken’s Charcoal Pits & BBQ 360 Late Models will also run for $2,000-to-win as they will battle in the 29-lap Russ Prentice Memorial, the biggest race of the year for the class. Dave DuBois reeled off his fifth win last Saturday, but remains focused on the points as he is just 17 points ahead of Tommy Kemp.

The Cornerstone Eye Associates Sportsman see Kyle Inman 22 points up on Saturday’s winner Andrew Smith in the standings. Inman could be the only 2016 Champion to repeat this season with another top 10 finish this Saturday.

2015 Street Stock Champion Byron Dewitt could once again hold on to the division title as he is 28 points up on Mike Jackson after his win last week in the Yasses Trucking and Construction Street Stocks. Dewitt has been red-hot over the last month, but simply starting the feature could be enough to secure the title.

As mentioned earlier, former Bandit Champion Dante Mancuso has secured the Pellegrino Auto Sales Mini Stock Championship. A new DML Driveway Sealing Bandit Champion will be crowned, as Jessica Traxler is 16 points ahead of Bailey Logsdon. Logsdon has been making ground of late, particularly after her fourth win on Saturday.

Racing action, as always, will kick off at 6:00 P.M. Be sure to be on hand for what is sure to be a special night. For more information, visit www.Genesee-Speedway.com.
