MERCER, PA.-The sweet smell of methanol will be returning to Michaels Mercer Raceway for the second of eight 410 sprint car spectacular races paying $3000 to win at the historic 38 smile Bent egg oval coming up this Saturday, June 11. With few tracks racing sprint cars on Saturday June 11th because of Ohio sprint speedweek there should be a lot of cars coming from Central Ohio and western Pennsylvania to the speedway which could be a battle of the border wars.

It will also be a regular point night for our regular four divisions of Big Block Modifieds; Racesaver 305 Sprints; FASTRAK Modifieds and Mini Stocks.

Jack Sodeman Jr who just joined the 20+ win club going back to 1966 will be there to defend his victory back on May 28. Many Sprint drivers are praising the new red clay surface in just its second week of competition so it should be an exciting night as mercer is expecting a large contingent of sprint cars.

Brad Rapp who last year was on fire in the latter part of the year picking up big high-paying races in the Big Block Modifieds Will be leading the charge with last year‘s track champion Eric Gabany also a winner on opening night .

Youngster Roman Jones who picked up his first career full-size car win in the Racesaver 305 sprints will be back to also defend his victory on May 28th. he has joined his sister Vivian as the only brother/sister combination to win features in the same class in the 71 year history of the speedway. Jeremy Kornbau who also won his first ever 305 race will also be leading the charge.

A legendary name that goes back to the early days of the Speedway had one of its siblings pick up his first career win in the FASTRAK modifieds with Jeff Schaffer Jr. taking his first win adding him name to the Mercer family tree. 2 time track champion Brian Schaffer won the opening night feature event.

In the mini stocks it has been all 2021 track champion Andy Thompson winning both feature events but they have not been easy as he has been challenged until the checkered flag flew.

This will be the only 410 sprint car race within 2 hours of Mercer Pennsylvania so get there early to get the best seats to see many outside invaders taking on our locals.

Pit gates will open at 4pm.
