THOROLD, ONTARIO – Exciting changes are ahead! This year will mark Pen Centre’s 60th Anniversary. With an ongoing commitment to offering guests a fresh & exciting experience – construction on the old Target space and the northeast parking lot has begun.
Exciting changes during March Break Week (March 12th to March 19th) at Niagara’s leading shopping destination include Merrittville Speedway’s Annual Race Car Show and a chance to get a 2018 Schedule.
“Winter has been too long and too frigid for us all,” relays (Merrittville Owner) Don Spiece, “race fans and race teams alike can’t wait for racing season to get started … our week at the Pen will surely get everyone excited about our 67th Season of Saturday Night racing in addition to the 25th Season of Tuesday Night Kart Racing!.”
The off season has been busy for former 4 Cylinder Racer Tom Neale as the St. Catharines native will make to move to the S&W Service Centre 358 Modified Division. Joining Neale will be the cars of veterans Scott Wood, Mike Bowman and Tommy Flannigan in addition to the Big Block Modified of Tyler McPherson.
The David Chevrolet Sportsman Division will be represented by rookie second generation driver Noah Mamo, Trevor Wright and Brent Begolo. Begolo will also display his Vansickle Pet Valu & Groomindale’s Modified Lite Division Championship car from 2017.
Central Fabricating & Welding 4 Cylinder Fans can look forward to checking out the cars of Jay Moulton, Vincent Pagnotta and Austyn Werstroh.
2018 will see a new Bobcat of Hamilton Weekly Racing Series Division join the action in the Dave’s Auto & Speed Centre represented by Stephen Conway and others.
Sprint Car Fans will enjoy 5 events in the coming season and former Kart Champion Joshua Hansen show off his racer that will make 2 visits as part of the Action Sprint Tour that features the Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Cars from the Ohsweken Speedway.
The Tuesday Night Bobcat of Hamilton Weekly Karting Series 25th Season will be represented by a group of karters including Logan Iliffe, Jacob Mamo and Nigel Pendykoski.
Merrittville Speedway’s Race Car Show at the Pen Centre will run from Monday March 12th to Sunday March 18th during Mall Hours with plenty of FREE March Break activities also planned for the kids.
