MIDDLETOWN, NY-The lightning fast H.O. Penn Small-Block Modifieds headline the First Responders Night racing program Saturday, August 12 at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York. Qualifying races will set the field for their 25-lap, $2,000 to win feature race. This is Orange County’s tightest division point race, currently with a tie for first between Anthony Perrego and Dillon Steuer, both with 281 points. Third through fifth in the point chase are Billy VanInwegen (271 points), Danny Creeden (266), and Tanner VanDoren (255). This is the final “tune-up” for the Small-Block Modifieds before the September 9 Champions Night.
Anthony Perrego is the Small-Block Modified defending champion and seeking his fifth consecutive and sixth overall title in this most competitive division.
Orange County’s Sportsman and NAPA North East Parts Group Street Stocks are also on the program with a full card of qualifying races and their respective feature events.
All First Responders—Police Fire, EMTs, and Military—with proof of ID will be admitted to the Grandstands and Drive-In free of charge.
General admission to the Grandstands and Drive-In for the August 12 race meet is $15.00/Seniors $12.00. Party Deck $25 each, $100 table maximum four, VIP Tower seating $40 each. Parking on the grounds is free. Drive-In parking $1.00. Children 12 and under are free. Pit admission $30 member, $35 non-member. Both the stands and pits will open at 4:30 pm. Racing begins at 6:30 pm.
UPCOMING: The month’s biggest event will take place on Saturday, August 19 when Orange County Fair Speedway celebrates its 104th Anniversary, with a special 50-lap, $6,000 to win feature race for the DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds. More details on this celebratory night of racing are forthcoming. The Sportsman and Rookie Sportsman will also be in competition that evening.
