SAINT MARCEL DE RICHELIEU, QC –  It was a special night at RPM Speedway as the track presented a racing program on a Friday night. It was also the beginning of the championship for the Modified and Sportsman and Sport Compact and Mini-mods were also on the card. Modified had a pair of 30 laps feature. In the first race, David Hébert led from the green to checkered and won his first win of the season. Defending RPM Speedway’s champ Steve Bernier finished second and Martin Pelletier took third place. In the second feature, top 12 positions were inverted and Mario Clair did a spectacular move in turn 2 to go from 4th to 1st on the first lap. He led every lap on a track that was tough to pass on. Track was way faster on the bottom but Steve Bernier gave all he could and he finished in the runner-up position after starting 11th. Alex Therrien finished third and got his first podium of the year.

In the Sportsman division, it was the William Racine show all over again as the young driver took the lead on the first lap and never looked back. After a tough weekend last week, Karl Letendre came back strong with his first career podium after a hard-fought battle with Antoine Parent who finished 3rd. Sport Compact were racing and it was another spectacular race between Alexis Charbonneau and Dominik Blais. They passed the line at least half the race two wide. When it was all said and done,

It was Alexis Charbonneau who passed the finish line first in front of Patrick Delisle as Blais finished 3rd after a transmission failure on last lap. Yves Morin won the Minimod feature after resisting Patrick Lapolice for 20 laps. Jonathan Lapolice finished third.
