MIDDLETOWN, NY – As part of our country’s celebration of Independence Day, military personnel in uniform and veterans with appropriate identification will be admitted at a special rate for the Saturday, July 7 night of stock car racing at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York.
“We owe so much to our military people. Their sacrifices have kept us free, allowing us to enjoy a way of life that is the envy of all the other nations,” says Mike Gurda, speedway general manager. “We’re happy to recognize our active and veteran military folks at the speedway in celebration of Independence Day.
The evening’s schedule includes a four-division racing program featuring Small-Block Modifieds, Sportsman, Rookie Sportsman, and Street Stock race cars in qualifying heats and feature races. And as an added attraction, the CRSA 305 Sprint Cars will make their second Orange County appearance of 2018. The evening’s program is sponsored by Dana Distributors.
In last week’s racing action, Danny Creeden crossed the finish line first in the 25-lap Small-Block Modified feature, but was subsequently disqualified for a carburetor violation. That handed the victory to Tyler Boniface, followed by Gary Edwards, Anthony Perrego—who also won the Big-Block Modified feature race—and Brian Krummel.
These top drivers and more than 100 others will be ready to race this coming Saturday on the “new” Orange County racing surface. Come and enjoy the races in the refurbished chair seat main grandstand, the new totally rebuilt half-covered stands with the high-level Party Deck, or bring the whole gang in the car and watch the action from Orange County’s unique drive-in section.
Admission prices for the July 7 race meet remain at $15 adults, $13 seniors, and $1.00 for children 10 and under. There is a $1.00 car charge for the drive-in section. The full night of racing begins promptly at 6:30 pm.
