Big-Blocks Return to OCFS on Thursday, May 27

MIDDLETOWN, NY – The United Rentals DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds return to Orange County Fair Speedway on Thursday evening, May 27 for a full racing program—the “TWIN”TY FIVE-75—that culminates with a 75-lap feature race. This will be the first of five Thursday race meets, four of which will count towards the Orange County Modified Championship, and a fifth, the annual Super DIRTcar Modified Series “Battle of the Midway” 100. What makes this first Thursday race even more special is the unique qualifying procedure for the feature event. Instead of the usual heat and consolation races, the field will be set by a pair of 25-lap preliminary races and a B-main last chance race.

Also on the night’s program will be a 15-lap race for the track’s Rookie Sportsman division, and returning after a long absence, the entertaining One-on-One Spectator Eliminations.

In two previous Big-Block Modified races this season, drivers Tommy Meier and Matt Sheppard took home the trophies and top purse money. They’ve also locked themselves into the Final Eight, the drivers who will compete for track Modified Championship and its $25,000 prize.
