Penn Can Speedway Releases History Making 2021 Schedule

SUSQUEHANNA, PA – Second year promoters, Gary sr. and Eileen Folk  are pleased to release the 2021 schedule for Penn Can Speedway. The 3/8 mile dirt oval boasts its 66th  year of consecutive racing with April 11th  as the season opener. The resurgence of the speedway has brought new life into the facility and surrounding communities.

“We want to keep the momentum going into 2021 and we are off to a great start, stated Gary sr.,  On September 25th, the winner of the modified portion of King of the Can will bring home a whopping $10,066. The largest payout in the history of the speedway. The total purse for the race will be $40,000 distributed throughout the modified field.  I am happy to announce we will be paying $50.00 tow money to non-qualifiers in all divisions except the juniors for the 2021 season .Our team has been working hard in the off season to put all this together and we are still making ground to add to other scheduled shows.”

Eileen Folk spoke of the schedule and how giving back to the community played a big part of the planning. “I have always believed we should invest in our communities. There are several nights we have scheduled for non-profits organizations. The Spaulding Foundation will be here on July 2nd. The Oakland Borough Emergency Relief Food Pantry night is scheduled for Aug. 27th. We chose this organization because they service the entire county of Susquehanna. As the year progresses, we will be announcing more updates.”

The  popular and always expanding Brett Deyo’s Short Track Super Series will return May 30th   of Memorial Day weekend. The Patriot Sprint Tour along with the CRSA sprints will be making appearances. The Stark family owned GRIT Series, which boasts three divisions, will have multiple events. Laurie Fallis and her Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modifieds will return for King of the Can weekend for all the vintage enthusiasts.

The month of June will see the second appearance of the Renegade Monster Truck Show. Last years show reached standing room only and will not disappoint this year. Zane Rettew and his team strive to put the best show for the fans. The demo derby will begin our month of October and something new for the fans will round out the month’s events. Adventure racing will be a 4 week miniseries for side by side ATV’s. The track will be transformed into a small obstacle course for the drivers. During the month of October, Penn Can will help bring awareness to  the fight against all cancers. More endure races have been scheduled for the later part of the year. More information for the scheduled events will be announced during the season.

General Manager, JoAnne Mady, talked of the overall schedule and the aggressive 40 event season. ”We learned a lot last year and continue to learn new things every day. The King of the Can modified payout is record breaking just as our 2020 season was. The increased weekly payouts for our divisions will help us give back to our racers. Non-profit organizations took a huge hit last year and we hope to help in some way to give back to our local communities as well. Bob Hilbert Sportswear will be making our shirts and hoodies for our 2021 season. The majority of our sponsors have already agreed to continue their relationships with Penn Can for the 2021 season. The excitement is there, we just need to start racing!”

Penn Can Speedway is located on Rt. 171 in beautiful Susquehanna Pa. The Friday night weekly divisions will be modified, 602 crate sportsman, street stocks, factory stocks, 600cc modified, 4-cylinder and the junior division. You can visit their website, penncanspeedway.net, for updates throughout the year. A printable schedule will be available as well.
