Pauch Racing Recap 5/23/17

Billy Pauch Jr. has proven he did his homework over the winter after picking up his third victory of the season at New Egypt Speedway Saturday night in the Holsten Racing No.96 Modified.

Pauch Jr. finished fourth from his seventh place starting position in his heat race, placing him into the invert for the main event.

Pauch Jr. started in the seventh row on the outside for the 30-lap feature.

“We worked our way slowly to the front and got up to second by lap ten,” he said. “We ran a nice battle for ten laps with Lou Cicconi until we got the lead on lap 20.”

Pauch Jr. was very pleased with his cars performance all night. “The car is on rails so hopefully we keep it going.”

“Once we got the lead we were able to take off,” noted Pauch Jr. “The track got a little bit dryer and it seemed the dryer the track got the better we got. There were a couple restarts there at the end but were still able to pull away and put some distance on the field.”

Pauch Jr. has a busy week ahead as he plans to tackle five nights straight of racing. The week will kick off at Action Track USA on Wednesday May 24 then to Delaware International on Thursday, May 25, Big Diamond Speedway on Friday, May 26, New Egypt Speedway on Saturday, May 27 and Grandview Speedway on Sunday, May 28. Billy Pauch Sr. will be back in action at Delaware International on Thursday, May 25 and Bridgeport Speedway on Sunday, May 27.
