Patriot Sprint Tour Race at Ransomville to be Televised on Speedway Showcase


ROCHESTER, NY – The blistering-fast Patriot Sprint Tour action at the Ransomville Speedway will be coming in to your living room this summer!

The Ransomville Speedway and Patriot Sprint Tour have combined on an effort to broadcast “Speedway Showcase” at “The Big R” on Friday, June 2nd on Spectrum Sports Channels (formerly Time Warner Cable Sports Channel) across Upstate New York. The episode is slated to begin airing on Sunday, July 16th at 11:00 A.M.

“We are excited to put the Patriot Sprint Tour back on cable this year,” declared PST President Mike Emhof. “We have a strong tradition of putting races on TV and are pleased to once again give our series the exposure it deserves.”

Ransomville Speedway General Manager Jenn Martin agreed with Emhof. “We are happy to give our fans more racing content while attracting new fans at the same time,” noted Martin. “Having the ability to showcase to millions of cable customers the great racing Ransomville has to offer as well as the impressive improvements to our facility is an exciting opportunity.”

“Speedway Showcase” will serve as an appetizer to the aggressive schedule set at Ransomville in 2017, including the long-awaited return of the World of Outlaws on July 23rd, the Super DIRTcar Series on Tuesday, August 8th, as well as the second visit by the Patriot Sprint Tour on August 25th. This will be the first Patriot Sprint Tour race to air on cable since 2011; since that time, more than 100 features have been contested, many of which have been won by Jared Zimbardi. “The Juice” is off to a hot start once again in 2017 and will be a factor at the site of his second-career win back in 2007. “Speedway Showcase” is owned by Hot Wings Media and will broadcast throughout the summer of 2017 on Spectrum Sports Channel with episodes from Weedsport Speedway, Ohsweken Speedway and others to be announced. Hosted by Doug Elkins and former PST Announcer Rich Vleck , the 60-minute episode with feature the qualifying heat race action, dash for cash, and of course the 25-lap A-Verdi A-Main. Along the way there will be feature stories, questions of the night and the tech minute by veteran pit reporter Paul Szmal.
